UPDATE: Book and Fee Day for St. Joseph’s Religious Education has passed. If you missed it, please call the office to pick up your child’s book and packet, so you are ready for the first Sunday of Religious Education. Sunday, September 14, 2008 is the first day of Religious Education.

If you have not yet registered for Religious Education (CCD), there is still time. Children making Sacraments must be enrolled in Religious Education for two years prior to the reception of the Sacrament. There are still openings in all grades. Please call the office (708) 798-6311.

The Religious Education Office is now making plans for the 2008-09 Religious Education Program. Registration for classes is now taking place. The Religious Education program is for children from pre-school age through 8th grade who attend public school.

Children are expected to attend religious education at all grade levels. Catechesis in each grade is based upon a progressive doctrinal context, which ultimately needs to be learned to allow a child to grow in his or her faith.

Archdiocesan policy states that sacramental catechesis is a 2-year process. For example, children are expected to attend 1st and 2nd grade classes to experience First Reconciliation and First Eucharist at the end of 2nd Grade. The Confirmation program is based upon all that has been presented in Grades 3-7.

CLASS HOURS: Sunday 8:30 am or 10:00 am

To register please call the Religious Education Office at 708-798-6311 or fill out the registration form on the Web site and drop it off or mail it to the Religious Education Office.

If your child was not baptized at St. Joseph Parish, a copy of the child's baptismal certificate is needed at the time of registration.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Religious Education Office at 708-798-6311.
