We would like to thank our summer patrons for making this program a continued success. MANNA orders are now being processed weekly. Orders are due by 10:00 AM on Tuesday and will be available for pick-up at 11:00 AM on Thursday. Further information on this program and current order forms are available in the back of church.
The St. Joseph’s Parents’ Club is pleased to introduce the Manna Program to our parish. We are truly blessed to be a part of this vibrant parish and we are excited to share with you this new way to benefit our parish community. Here’s how it works:
There are a number of companies participating. They include grocery stores, gas stations, clothing stores, restaurants, and theaters. These companies make gift cards available through the Manna program. Anyone who purchases these cards pays the face value of the card when placing an order. The Parents’ Club purchases the cards at a discount and keeps the predetermined percentage as profit. All the proceeds would be used to directly benefit our parish school.
Our parish school facilities are used by many of our parishioners on a regular basis. By preordering cards through the Manna program to use for everyday expenses, participants can benefit St. Joseph School without spending any extra money!
What’s the catch? Well, there IS a little extra work involved. Instead of paying cash for your groceries, you’d have to preorder a $20 gift certificate. It’s an extra step, but there’s a 2%-4% profit on those grocery certificates!
There are lots of other ways to include Manna in our daily routine:
- Purchase cards to fill your gas tank.
- Purchase certificates to pay for your oil changes.
- Purchase certificates to pay for your prescriptions.
- Purchase certificates to pay for your clothing.
- Purchase cards for birthday, holiday, and special occasion gifts.
- Purchase certificates to pay for home repairs and improvements.
- Purchase cards/certificates for dining out or ordering in.
- Purchase cards to go bowling, rock climbing, or to the movies.
- Purchase certificates to pay for your coffee.
- Purchase certificates to pay for your office supplies.
- Purchase certificates to pay for your haircut, manicure
Though the profits are not a huge contribution from any one source, it’s the volume that works in our favor. Think about how much you spend every year just on groceries. Now imagine 2% to 4% of that total being given to our school! A family that spends $400 a month on groceries would contribute $208 a year without spending an extra penny! Still not convinced? A family that spends $30 a week on gas would contribute $46.80 a year. How about 5% to 14% of gifts you purchase for birthdays and holidays being given to our school? Now imagine if your friends and relatives participated too. Remember, ALL the proceeds would directly benefit our children.
