THANKS FROM SOUTH SUBURBAN CATHOLIC CHARITIES We received a letter of thanks from Fred Shannon, director of the South Suburban Catholic Charities, for our recent emergency food drive. Their cupboard, you will remember, was bare. Over SIX TONS of food was donated to help them feed the poor! He also praises Tom and Maureen Brabec, Lisa Brooks, Mike Cap, Ray Kucharski, Linda McDonough, Mike Ormsby and Liz Thomas who formed the caravan which delivered the food to Charities’ headquarters. He concludes by writing: “St. Joseph’s parishioners are most generous and wonderful in their concern for our less fortunate neighbors. Know that you all have a special mention in all our prayers and works for the needy.” Again, a hearty WELL DONE to all who made this venture such a wonderful success! THANKS TO SO MANY FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION! Once again our celebration of Our Savior’s Birth was elegant, prayerful and inspiring. Thanks to so very many whose combined talents and efforts made Christmas such a joy. First of all, thanks to Jeannine Ruse and her Arts and Environment committee. Their work made our Church shine with glory. Thanks also to John Ligda and our wonderful Festival and Children’s Choirs and the varied musicians whose magnificent music gave us a taste of future joys in heaven. Thanks to our Lectors, Cantors, Altar Servers, Ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, Sanctuary Ladies and many more too numerous to mention. Thanks, finally, to all our loyal parishioners whose presence, prayer and profound faith showed what Christmas is all about. AND STILL MORE THANKS As you can see from the figures, our Christmas collection was quite good, nearly at budget. There is still time to make your offering, if you have not done so. To all who have, our heartfelt thanks! Saint Joseph, pray for us, and let us pray for one another!
